TK/K Paraeducators Workshop
This is a 3.5-hour workshop divided into 3- 50-60 minute modules with interactive activities and videos for each section and subsection. A quick assessment will be given following each larger strand.

After successful completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

Understand the differences between a paraprofessional aide for all grades, and a paraprofessional aide for TK/K

Understand the role and requirements of a paraprofessional in a TK/K program

Explore and understand the importance of Social-Emotional Development and effective foundations for Social Interaction and the areas of environment, instruction, and the role of assessment and ways to support social-emotional development for ALL students.

Learn about language development and its role in cognitive development, reading achievement, overall school performance, and social relations;

Explore language development in the areas of environment, instruction, and assessment for all children;

Learn about why focusing on number sense in transitional kindergarten is essential for young learners;

Understand how the TK classroom environment supports mathematics development and review key interactions and strategies that promote number sense.
