In his last district, Dr. Martzloff served as Superintendent of Schools for a District with over 10,000 students and had an annual budget over $200 million. The district was ranked #1 for academic performance out of 94 districts for 11 straight years by Buffalo Business First. The district was also ranked highly for administrative efficiency when compared to others in the region.
During his career, Dr. Martzloff has been able to implement fiscally responsible budgets that were all under the tax cap each year while expanding programs and resources for children.  He also initiated and supervised Capital Projects of over $150 million without increasing taxes on residents. These improvements resulted in new athletic turf fields, a large expansion of music instructional space, and enhanced safety and security measures at all schools. Dr. Martzloff is able to collaborate, communicate, and facilitate solutions to challenging problems with the Board of Education, administrators, teachers, parents, students, and community members.

Dr. Martzloff has been recognized by the National School Development Council Cooperative Leadership Group with their Award in 2019 for his continuous focus on building a strong education community of learners. Dr. Martzloff has also presented at National School Safety conferences, the District Administration Leadership Institute, and numerous other local and state gatherings of education professionals to assist school leaders and teachers.

For over 20 years, Dr. Martzloff has collaborated with the “Walking Boys” from Southern Sudan to help them obtain their education and careers here in the United States as well as helping them to raise money to build and support education in their home country. Additionally, he has worked with the leaders of the federal K-12 education system in Latvia as they look to build their system of public schools.

27-year educator, collaborator, and leader
Dr. Scott G. Martzloff has been a part of successful teams his entire life. His high school basketball team was the first one in school history to win a large-school New York State Championship. He was recruited by several colleges and accepted a full scholarship to the College of the Holy Cross where he played Division I basketball for four years. Following graduating college, he was invited to play professional basketball for the Detroit Pistons as well as professional opportunities in Spain, Holland, and Hong Kong. Dr. Martzloff was able to parlay these achievements into his educational career as he became a Special Education Teacher, School Building Administrator, and then a Superintendent of Schools in urban, rural and suburban school districts in New York State.
