Fresno Unified School District, Fresno, California

Plan, organize and manage the design and construction process for all new construction and modernization projects of school facilities including coordination with all state agencies (OPSC, DSA, SAB and CDE)
Oversee FUSD’s $199 million Capital Facilities Bond Program (Measure K); constructed 4 new elementary schools, cafeterias, libraries, and a 106,000 sq.ft. Central Kitchen; successfully completed 18 large-scale school modernization projects
Prepare and present a variety of financial and regulatory reports for submission to the school board and state agencies; oversee periodic updates of the Facilities Master Plan
Oversee the preparation of annual enrollment projections and collaborate with the Chief Human Resources Officer to support staffing needs and optimize facilities utilization
Provide fiscal accountability and prepare financial projections and budgets for all capital improvement projects in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer
Conduct facilities briefings and workshops for the Superintendent, Board of Trustees, Principals and community members; represent the district at local and state levels
Provide financial oversight, budget development and management for five Operations departments including Facilities Management and Planning, Maintenance & Operations, Food Services, Purchasing and Transportation, totaling over $200 million annually
Prepare and present bond financial and construction reports to the Proposition 39 Citizen Bond Oversight Committee and facilities sub committees, including annual reports
Facilitate labor and management negotiations with collective bargaining units utilizing a collaborative interest based approach
Responsible for the collection of developer fees and the periodic Developer Fees Justification Report for the Superintendent and Board of Trustees
