Positive School Climate and Culture Creation – The Secret to Success
As school districts move forward from the impacts of Covid for three consecutive school years, focusing on the creation of a positive school climate and culture is more important than ever. Whether the district or individual building goals are teacher recruitment and retention, improved student academic performance, or overall improvement in morale, Total School Solutions can assist. School Districts are a business, but the business of education is relationships. The instructor of this course, Mr. Jon Acton, stated, “Education is a Relationship Business. Always has been, always will be.” Every staff member, from the School Board, to Superintendent to the classroom teacher to the custodian and everyone in between, has an impact and a role on the overall School Climate and Culture. This self-paced course includes power point and video modules with essential questions for reflection. (Weekly – Bi-weekly – Finale Module, Date to be agreed upon) zoom meetings with the instructor will discuss the essential questions, and collaborate with the students on the challenges and opportunities unique to each school district per each module.
Intended Audience – School Boards, Central Office, Administration, Certified Staff, Classified Staff. Everyone and every position that makes up a school district will benefit from this course and subsequent modules.

Students will identify the positives and areas for growth in the overall district, building, or specific classroom and or department. Students will develop their overall and specific visions for climate and culture enhancement while identifying the influencers that have impacted their education journey to date. Students will learn the importance of two-way trust at all levels as well as identify areas of potential participation, including “on-stage,” “back-stage,” or “front-stage” roles.
