The 4–hour course provides a complete overview of the signs, symptoms, screening tools, and types of assessment used to determine if a study may have dyslexia. In addition, current federal laws and diagnostic criteria associated with the eligibility determination associated with dyslexia will be discussed. The course will also focus on best-structured literacy practices in implementing reading and writing instruction designed to meet the needs of students with dyslexia. An overview of suggested classroom accommodations and UDL-aligned supports will be explored.
